It isn’t often that Beverly Hills hotels work in concert instead of in competition. But to celebrate the city’s upcoming 100th birthday next year, five high-end hotels — Montage Beverly Hills, The Beverly Hills Hotel & Bungalows, The Beverly Hilton, L’Ermitage Beverly Hills and The Peninsula Beverly Hills — each will feature a redecorated suite that harks back to an era from the past 100 years.

Interior designer Susan Manrao will spearhead the campaign created by the Beverly Hills Conference & Visitors Bureau, dubbed the Suite 100 Project, in which individual interior designers will redo suites at each location.
At the Montage, Nina Petronzio will go for a sultry film noir look with Art Deco-inspired furniture and lots of gold- and silver-leaf finishes. At The Peninsula Beverly Hills, design firm Forchielli Glynn will transform a suite into the epitome of current-day Hollywood luxury. Using awards season style as its decorating inspiration, the design firm has clad the living room walls with photographic murals of red carpet events.
Adam Tihany selected Marilyn Monroe as his muse for a high-glam makeover of a Beverly Hills Hotel suite, while Tom Ford Design (nope, not that Tom Ford) chose Tippi Hedren, circa The Birds, as its inspiration for the Beverly Hilton suite. Expect bold graphics that channel iconic British decorator David Hicks and Hollywood Regency-style touches. At L’Ermitage, designer Ken Fulk is creating a Studio 54-style space with lacquer and mirror finishes and lots of Halston-evoking details, including the use of Ultrasuede, the designer’s favorite fabric.

The suites are set to be completed in March 2014, with room packages beginning at $1,914, a reference to the year 1914, when the City of Beverly Hills was incorporated. Bookings for Suite 100s start on Jan. 28, 2014.
