El Rey Network’s Matador is adding a trio of recurring players.
Christopher Cousins (Breaking Bad, Revolution), Margot Bingham (Boardwalk Empire) and Eve Torres (WWE Raw) have joined the spy thriller in recurring roles, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Matador chronicles the rise of Tony “Matador” Bravo (Gabriel Luna), a professional soccer player for the L.A. Riot who comes to be known as much for his antics off the field as his moves on it. But what his fans and family don’t realize is it’s all a cover — he’s a covert operative going on missions for the CIA.
Cousins will play Deputy Director Llewyn Wayne Smith, a seasoned senior CIA officer in charge of the department responsible for recruiting Tony. While he may seem professional, Deputy Director Smith keeps most of his cards close to the vest. He is repped by SDB Partners and DiSante Frank & Co.

Bingham has been cast as Abigail “Billie” Fisher, a logistics analyst who works for the CIA. She is repped by CAA and Untitled.
Torres will appear as Reyna Flores, a sideline journalist who reports on Tony’s rise to fame. Sharp, ambitious and fit, Reyna is a former college player herself who is passionate about the game as she is about her career. She is repped by Levity Entertainment.
Alfred Molina, Nicky Whelan, Neil Hopkins and Tanc Sade co-star in the 13-episode series from creators Roberto Orci, Dan Dworkin, Jay Beattie and Andrew Orci. Dworkin and Beattie are showrunners, who executive produce with Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman, Heather Kadin, Robert Rodriguez, John Fogelman and Cristina Patwa. Andrew Orci is consulting producer.
Through the output deal, Entertainment One represents worldwide distribution rights — with the exception of U.S. broadcast network rights — for Matador.
Matador premieres July 15 on El Rey.
