The Oscars will celebrate the 75th anniversary of The Wizard of Oz, it was announced today.
The film received six Oscar nominations in 1939, including one for best picture, and won Academy Awards for original score and song.
“We are delighted to celebrate the birthday of one of the most beloved movies of all time at this year’s Oscars,” Oscar producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said in a statement.

The Oscars previously announced that this year’s ceremony will pay tribute to movie heroes.
The 86th annual Academy Awards will be presented on Sunday, March 2 at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center and will be televised live on ABC. The ceremony will be hosted by Ellen DeGeneres.
American Hustle and Gravity have the most Oscar nominations this year, with 10 each.
