Seth Meyers becomes the latest addition to NBC’s late-night lineup on Monday, as his eponymous 12:35 a.m. show debuts.
But while some might be excited about Meyers’ new show, the host himself predicts he’ll be experiencing “white-hot panic” when he first hears his name announced on his show.

“We’ll probably have security guards behind me to make sure I can’t make tracks quickly out the other direction,” Meyers told Today‘s Savannah Guthrie in an interview that aired on Monday’s edition of the NBC morning show.
The rookie host sat down with Guthrie in his new Late Night With Seth Meyers studio, giving NBC viewers a preview of his digs.
He also practiced his interviewing skills with Guthrie, who gave him one-word answers to his many questions, corrected his pronunciation of her name and yawned as she pretended to be a bad interview.
VIDEO: Seth Meyers Reveals Biggest Regret About Leaving ‘Saturday Night Live’
Meyers’ Studio 8-G is just down the hall from the Saturday Night Live set and the host, who previously told The Hollywood Reporter how much he’d miss his old show, said if he wasn’t married, he’d hang out on the SNL set all the time.
“I’d be like the guy who graduated high school and is still sticking around,” he said. “I’d be like, ‘What are you guys doing this week? Cool, cool … that sounds funny … cool,’ just, like, drinking a six pack out of a bag.”
As for whether Late Night viewers will see his “Weekend Update” segment “Really?!” on his new show, Meyers said that it will be there in a way.
“I think you’ll see, like, at least that sentiment,” he said. “I don’t know if you’ll see it actually in that structure. But I promise to be incredulous about current events.”
