LODI-

Delegates from the country of Moldova were in Lodi Wednesday, getting a tour of the business side of wine making and marketing.

Members of the country’s chamber of commerce toured the Barsetti Vinyard in Lodi.

Moldova is looking to get a better grip of the wine making and marketing process after Russian Pres. Vladimir Putin embargo on the country’s wine shipments to Russia significantly reducing their sales to Putins country.

“It was great to have them here and share our knowledge. Hopefully they can take it back home and help business,” Janice Barsetti Gray said.

Moldova is enduring economic hardship and hopes that wine exports and agri-tourism will change things, and allow them to become a wine connoisseur destination.
