Lifetime‘s Bible-themed miniseries Red Tent is rounding out its cast.
Musician Toby Sebastian has joined the four-hour drama based on the best-selling novel by Anita Diamant, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
STORY: The ‘Bible’ Effect and the Resurrection of TV Miniseries
Red Tent is a first-person story of Dinah, the daughter of Leah and Jacob and sister of Joseph, a minor character who was briefly referenced in the Old Testament, but whose story Diamant expanded in her 1997 best-seller.
Sebastian has been cast as Re-mose, Dinah’s (Rebecca Ferguson) only child, a son conceived during her brief and ill-fated marriage to Shalem. He is taken from Dinah as a baby and raised by his grandmother, Queen Re-nefer. Re-mose later becomes scribe to the Pharaoh’s vizier, only to be confronted with his past when he reunites with Dinah and attempts to avenge his father’s murder.
Morena Baccarin, Minnie Driver, Debra Winger, Iain Glen and Will Tudor also star.
From Sony Pictures Television, Red Tent will be executive produced by Blood Diamond‘s Paula Weinstein. Roger Young (Law & Order) will direct the drama from a script by Elizabeth Chandler (Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants) and Anne Meredith (Secrets of Eden).
Sebastian is repped by CAA, Impression Entertainment and United Agents. He will next be seen in Barely Lethal opposite Hailee Steinfeld and Samuel L. Jackson, in addition to performing several songs that will be featured in the film. Sebastian made his feature debut in After the Dark and also appeared in The Hollow Crown.
