Llosa’s Aloft, her English-language debut, will have its world premiere in Berlin. The drama stars Jennifer Connelly, Cillian Murphy and Melanie Laurent. The Peruvian-born Llosa won the Golden Bear with her second feature, The Milk of Sorrow, in 2009.
Renais’ Life of Riley, Demange’s ’71, Stratos from Economides and Graf’s Die Geliebten Schwestern will all be Berlinale world premieres.
Also making its world premiere in Berlin will be A Long Way Down, Pascal Chaumeil‘s ensemble drama featuring Pierce Brosnan, Toni Collette, Aaron Paul and Imogen Poots, which will receive a special, out of competition screening.
Other special screenings include Australian omnibus film The Turning — which features short films by, among others, David Wenham, Mia Wasikowska and Ashlee Page — and two documentaries: We Come As Friends from Austrian director Hubert Sauper and The Galapagos Affair: Satan Came to Eden from American directors Dayna Goldfine and Dan Geller.
