BBC America‘s mysterious drama Intruders is making its way to television later this summer.
From writer/executive producer Glen Morgan (The X-Files), the scripted series centers on a secret society devoted to chasing immortality by seeking refuge in the bodies of others and will launch Saturday, Aug. 23, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The series is based on the Michael Marshall Smith novel The Intruders, and John Simm, Mira Sorvino, James Frain, Tory Kittles and Millie Bobby Brown star.
The Hollywood Reporter exclusively debuts two images from the upcoming summer drama’s first episode.

Formerly of the Los Angeles Police Department, the now-retired Jack (Simm) is living a quiet, idyllic life in a remote town. In the image above, the book in the store window, Afterlife, is his recently published novel. The day also happens to be Jack’s wife’s birthday — hence the pink cake box in his hand.
In the second image, Jack’s lawyer wife Amy (Sorvino) celebrates her birthday with her husband before she vanishes. As one can imagine, Jack’s life is shattered when she disappears and as he embarks on a tireless search, he finds himself deeply embroiled in the mystery.
