The Killing is back for a fourth and final season—and it’s still its dreary self.
Picking up immediately after the finale, Detective Sarah Linden (Mireille Enos) and Detective Stephen Holder (Joel Kinnaman) are struggling to manage the fallout from their actions at the end of last season. You know, Linden killing Skinner and all.

The first official trailer for the Netflix “revival” picks up with Linden and Holder hastily figuring out their cover story. “We just got to keep our story straight,” says Holder, as Linden desperately attempts to wash away the blood. “No one’s going to find out. No one’s gotta know what we did.” While Linden is near a breakdown, Holder seems to have a better grasp on how to handle the matter. After all, prison isn’t made for everyone.
The next day, the partners are assigned a new case that forces them to refocus (or at least attempt to): A family is murdered, survived only by the son, played by Tyler Ross, who was shot in the head. When the son becomes a lead suspect, things get even more dire.
