SACRAMENTO-

Newly-unsealed court documents in the case against Ryan Chamberlain, a San Francisco man who was the center of a nationwide manhunt earlier this month, show that there is a connection to a similar case out of the Sacramento area.

Malcolm, who was arrested May 5, is accused of shipping poison to Chamberlain’s San Francisco apartment.

Several Federal agencies, including the FBI, ATF and Department of Homeland Security, searched Chamberlain’s home and reportedly found explosives.

Agents were investigating Chamberlain as a part of a larger operation having to do with an online black market known as the Black Market Reloaded on the “deep web,” a hidden version of the Internet dealing in illegal activity.

Malcolm, a Carmichael resident, is facing federal charges after allegedly selling weapons to undercover agents.

Investigators say Malcolm’s sale of the poison to Chamberlain was set up through the deep web.
