RICHMOND-

The pilot who died when his plane crashed near Richmond has been identified as a Rocklin-area man.

According to the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Department, David Plumb was the only one onboard the plane that crashed into the water Sunday afternoon.

Plumb’s Cessna collided with another plane, then went into the water. The wreckage was found Tuesday and removed from the water Wednesday.

The coroner says Plumb was from Rocklin.

The other plane involved in Sunday’s collision was able to land safely.
