NBC had good news on Tuesday night with nearly all of its lineup growing from last week. The Voice (4.0 rating with adults 18-49), improved three-tenths of a point from last week’s Tuesday season opener, easily topping the broadcast networks for the night.
That lead-in boosted About a Boy (2.6 adults), up three-tenths from its first two airings. The midseason comedy was previously sampled after the Winter Olympics and officially debuted with an encore of the pilot episode last Tuesday. Growing Up Fisher (2.0 adults), which had the same rollout, held even with last week’s pilot encore. Chicago Fire (1.9 adults) improved a tenth of a point, giving NBC an average 2.7 rating with adults 18-49 and 9.8 million viewers for the night.

NCIS (2.4 adults) shed two-tenths of a point on CBS, while NCIS: LA brought a series low 2.1 adults rating — off two tenths of a point. Person of Interest (1.7 adults), also at a series low, lost only a tenth of a point. CBS topped the night in total viewers (14.2 million) and came in second with a demo showing of a 2.1 rating.
The night’s trend of lows continued on ABC. Agents of SHIELD, dropping half of a point, brought a series low 1.7 rating with adults 18-49. The Goldbergs (1.6 adults) held even, but Trophy Wife (0.8 adults) fell to a low as well. Mind Games (0.6 adults) fell off a cliff in its second week, dropping half a point from its modest opening. ABC averaged a 1.2 rating among adults 18-49 and 3.6 million viewers.
Glee (1.0 adults), down two-tenths of a point, clocked a low on Fox. New Girl (1.5 adults) inched up by a tenth of a point, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine (1.3 adults) held even. Fox also averaged a 1.2 rating among adults 18-49, taking in 2.7 million viewers.
An even episode of The Originals (0.8 adults) led into Supernatural (0.9 adults, down a tenth), giving The CW a 0.9 rating with adults 18-49 and 1.9 million viewers.
