President Obama today offered a prayer for the release of Kenneth Bae from a North Korean prison, reports Arirang.
The Christian missionary and Korean American from the Seattle area has been held by the North Koreans since November of last year.
That’s the longest any American has ever been held in North Korea.
“His family wants him home,” said Obama at the annual prayer breakfast. And the United States will continue to do everything in our power to secure his release because Kenneth Bae deserves to be free.”
It’s the first time the President has ever mentioned Bae.
