SACRAMENTO-

The new, state-of-the-art, $1.5 million track at Sacramento State is ready to welcome world-class athletes this summer for the U.S. National Track and Field Championships.

The “Super X 720” surface is made by Mondo, and consists of reformulated rubber with two vulcanized natural rubber creating a molecular bond between the “wear rubber” and the “contact rubber.”

The laying of the track began in mid April and was completed last week.

The addition of the new surface was part of the improvements being made to bring the championships back to Sacramento.
