Cops are looking for a driver who hit a couple taking a stroll around a park, killing one and seriously injuring the other.

Thursday night, Turlock Police responded to a man and woman who were hit by a car. The couple was out for a walk, when a car hit them and took off. The woman died from her injuries, and the man, in his 50s, was seriously injured.

The driver was able to run away before officers arrived. However, investigators were able to identify 49-year-old Rene Salas as a person of interest. They are now looking for information about Salas’ whereabouts to question him. Anyone with information about Salas, or Thursday night’s accident, call police at (209) 668-5550.
