NAPA-

President Barack Obama has sent federal aid to northern California, following the Aug. 24 earthquake in the Napa area.

The funds will help offset the recovery costs in Napa and Solano counties.

FEMA says damage surveys are still being conducted.

The 6.0-magnitude quake injured roughly 200 people, one of whom died nearly two weeks later from a head injury suffered during the disaster.

In the affected area, hundreds of buildings were red-tagged, or deemed unsafe for entry.
