SACRAMENTO-

Arden Mall Security Director Steve Reed beefed up his staff on Sept. 11 as a precaution.

“I brought in extra law enforcement presence today so we’re gonna have visible and not visible law enforcement presence,” Reed said.

Shoppers like Lynora Cohn and her friend Jackie Walker were especially nervous today at Arden Mall.

“I do feel a little uneasy, but I always do on 9/11,” said Cohn.

Thirteen years later, they’re still looking over their shoulders.

“We look more at other people, and notice people more. What they were holding. If they had their hands in their pocket. That kinda thing, you know?” Walker said.

Over at Sacramento International Airport, flyers we spoke to were confident about airport security

TSA spokesperson Nico Melendez says during peak holiday periods and days like 9/11, TSA implements more random screenings.

They may have more K9s, more behavioral detection officers and law enforcement.

Passengers like Sean Harasser says when he got ready for his flight, his focus wasn’t on his security.

Rather, it was on remembering those who lost their lives

“I suppose a lot more a moment of prayer and reflection than it was one of worry,” said Harasser.
