“This is sure to be among the most exciting events of the year,” according to an invite for the event. “President Obama will only be participating in DNC events on this trip to Southern California. The evening will begin with a reception and music performance. Following the performance, President Obama will give remarks to event guests and there will be a photo line. President Obama will then participate in an intimate dinner with 30 couples. It is sure to be a very special evening.”
The president had previously appointed Rhimes to the Kennedy Center’s board of trustees.
The July 23 event will mark Obama’s 18th trip to raise money in Hollywood since taking office in 2009. Obama was last in Los Angeles in May to attend USC Shoah Foundation’s 20th Anniversary and raise money for the Democrats. The president is arriving this weekend for a DNC fundraiser and other events in Orange County and Palm Springs.
