The DreamWorks power trio has come out in support of Bobby Shriver‘s campaign for the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.
In a letter distributed throughout Hollywood this week, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Steven Spielberg and David Geffen urged their vast network of political donors to give the maximum allowable contribution of $300 per person to Shriver, who is running for the District 3 seat now held by Zev Yaroslavsky.

“During his eight years of exemplary service on the Santa Monica City Council, Bobby worked tirelessly to deliver first-class police and fire protection, clean up Santa Monica Bay and the beaches, create and maintain parks and house the homeless, especially military veterans,” according to the letter. “In his own words, ‘local government impacts people where they live, literally and figuratively, every day.'”
The DreamWorks heavyweights noted that the county supervisors “oversee almost every aspect of daily life in their communities: healthcare, education, the arts, parks, social services, transportation, land use and much more, for as many as 10 million people, especially the most vulnerable — foster children, the mentally and physically disabled, the poor, senior citizens and the homeless.”

They added: “Now more than ever, we need Bobby’s vision and leadership on the L.A. County Board of Supervisors.”
Yaroslavsky, who will be termed out of office in December, has served on the Board of Supervisors representing the San Fernando Valley, the Westside and the costal areas between Venice and the Ventura County Line since 1994.
So far, Shriver’s main challenger for the county seat is former state senator Sheila Kuehl.
