Things are looking good for John Oliver. Things are looking even better for Game of Thrones.
The Daily Show alum debuted his new HBO series, Last Week Tonight, at 11 p.m. on Sunday. The first telecast got a strong start with 1.1 million viewers. It improved on its Veep lead-in, which had 922,000 viewers in the half-hour before.

Game of Thrones is the night’s real winner, though. Four episodes into its fourth season, the show notched another series record with 6.9 million viewers. That’s up from the 6.6 million viewers who caught the premiere earlier in April.
A total of 8.4 million tuned in to the show over three plays on Sunday night.
Recently renewed Silicon Valley is also staying very consistent. The latest episode took in 1.6 million viewers at 10 p.m.
