A sports reporter was so keen to get to work that he even turned up for a 4am shift - on his DAY OFF.

And his embarrassment was recorded for all to see and shared on social media, where it's gone viral.

Ian Abrahams, who is otherwise known as The Moose, has been a sports reporter for 24 years.

But coming in ready to work a shift at radio station TalkSPORT on his day off has got to hurt, especially when it was 4am.

Video posted by colleague Alan Brazil shows Ian walking into the office and being told that he is off.

He says that he is on because it's Monday November 23 but a woman off-camera explains: "No, it's Monday 30th."

He shrugs and says: "That's great, that is."

He later tweeted to his colleagues Scott Richards and Dave Williams: "Thanks for filming my moment of embarrassment."

On Twitter, Anthony Judge commented: "This is the reason the camera phone was invented, to capture this hilarity.

There was also no sympathy from Julie Gould, who wrote: "I'm sorry but I just can't help laughing and finding it hard to wipe the grin off my face."
