For several big-name DJs, the road to Miami’s Ultra Music Festival includes a pitstop at another Spring Break destination: Texas’s South Padre Island. The lineup for the three-day Ultimate Music Experience (UME), scheduled for March 13-15, 2014, will feature headliners like Tiësto, Zedd and Bassnectar, Billboard has learned. The full lineup is below.

UME, which takes place at the picturesque Schlitterbahn Beach Waterpark adjacent to the Gulf of Mexico (although the water rides will be decommissioned during the event), is entering its fourth year, and has grown in each. According to Paul Magee of Global Groove Presents, which is producing UME in partnership with Disco Donnie Presents and Sugar Society, attendance this year is anticipated to hit 45,000, or 15,000 a day. Even at that size, it’s still more intimate than other big-time parties. Of all EDM gatherings, UME is, “one of the more up-close-and-personal,” said Magee.
UME will feature pyrotechnical sets from the headliners and acts like Carnage, Zeds Dead and Boys Noize.
The growing support for UME demonstrates the EDM industry’s interest in smaller-market, ancillary events, to complement stalwarts like UMF and Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas, and increase the overall size of the booming EDM event business.
Here is the 2014 Ultimate Music Experience Lineup:
Thursday, March 13: Tiësto, Carnage, Dryo, Pegboard Nerds
Friday, March 14: Bassnectar, Zeds Dead, Paper Diamond, Keys ‘N Krates
Saturday, March 15: Zedd, Boys Noize, Sandro Silva, Brazzabelle
