Celebrate National Trails Day with Riverside State Park and REI on June 1, 2014 from 1 - 4 pm (registration at 12:30 pm) by sinking a shovel into fresh dirt of the Little Spokane River Natural Area and making a section of trail your own. The Knothead Trail currently runs into private property and the goal of this project is to redirect that portion of the trail onto State Park land.
This family-friendly project is open to volunteers of all ages and abilities. First, 130 volunteers to sign up will receive the coveted REI t-shirt. Shirt sizes are not guaranteed so get there early! It's a great way to become familiar with a popular Spokane recreation destination. Dress for the weather, bring a reusable water bottle and prepare for fun! Please register here. You will be asked to fill out a liability waiver for Riverside State Park, the event organizer, at check-in for the project. Parking will be available at the Little Spokane River Events Center - 13712 N. Nine Mile Rd., Nine Mile Falls, WA 99026
No Discover Pass is required at the project. Also, this project can count towards 24 volunteer hours required to earn a FREE Discover Pass. Log on to
