For pop culture enthusiasts not satisfied by the official company line on what went down in that Met Gala elevator, Saturday Night Live has you covered.
In SNL‘s cold open, Jay Z (Jay Pharoah), Solange (Sasheer Zamata) and a bodyguard (Kenan Thompson) addressed the crowd to assure viewers all was well with the musical family.

As proof, Solange showed security footage with an audio track revealing she hadn’t been attacking Jay Z — she’d been helping brush a spider off of him.
“Oh my god there’s a spider on you,” Solange yelled. Jay Z begged her to get the spider off of him, instructing her to “kick it!” As an added bonus, SNL alum Maya Rudolph made a surprise appearance as Beyonce.
