“This is disturbing,” said Elizabeth Jacobo.

Jacobo wasn’t the only neighbor who looked on in horror at the closed off intersection of Central Avenue and Vine Streets in Lodi.

This is where a 33-year-old woman who was in this White Ford Explorer flagged down another motorist, desperate for help.

She was covered in blood and apparently stabbed.

“She had multiple puncture wounds to the upper body. At this time it doesn’t indicate that it was a gunshot wound. She was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead,” said Cpl. Erick Bradley of the Lodi Police Department.

At 6 a.m. in the morning, traffic was just getting busy.

But the intersection remained closed for most of the day as a Justice Department forensics team gathered evidence.

They quickly determined a motive.

“It looks like this domestic violence-related. However, we’re still working on confirming that,” Bradley said.

Police believe the crime occurred in or around an SUV parked in the intersection. They are now looking for someone driving and entirely different car.

Investigators are looking for a 1995 maroon Honda Accord. They wouldn’t say if that car was seen at the location, but it’s the key to the case.

“We believe the vehicle of interest is being driven by the suspect right now,” Bradley said.

Elisabeth is upset that she has to pick up her children at a nearby school.

Word that this might be domestic violence case is also upsetting.

“You’re taking a life away from a human being. What’s the outcome of that, out of rage, out of jealousy, out of misunderstanding? It’s crazy,” Jacobo said.
