I don't expect much from a restaurant that makes its female employees wear bright orange booty shorts with taupe tights and pretend to laugh at its male customers' shit jokes, but the above post to Hooters's Facebook wall earlier today is a maaaaajor bummer. Not only is it incredibly disrespectful to all women and any people with brains and/or hearts, it's just not clever or interesting. Which brings up what should be the first rule for engaging people with your business on social media: (1) Don't be a fucking idiot.

Heads up, Hooters: Women eat at your restaurant, and if you want to keep it that way, how about not joking about something that happens to them every two minutes in America? It's disturbing when you see this type of juvenile, dangerous garbage being posted to Facebook by jackasses you went to high school with, but it's wholly unacceptable when done by a multinational corporation.

As Policy Mic's Elizabeth Plank says, someone better lose their job over this. Furthermore, I hope Hooters issues a full apology and then educates themselves and their customers on why a "joke" that devalues women in this way is so damn scary.

Although people on their Facebook page are upset, the company has yet to issue a statement.
