An older man is attacked while pumping gas in Southern California.

SAN BERNARDINO –

A 78-year-old man was viciously attacked while pumping gas in Southern California, and needed to remain in the hospital for a few days to recover.

Surveillance video from the gas station in San Bernardino shows the older man, John Faust, pumping gas into his truck. Faust was on his way to work at 4 a.m.

Then two men in black hoodies approach him from either side.

Then, one of the suspects reaches back and punches Faust in the face, sending him back into his truck, and to the ground. The two men then ripped his jeans to take Faust’s wallet, but they left the truck alone.

Faust had a fractured skull, a blood clot in his brain and a broken nose. He needed treatment in the ICU before he could go home to his wife of 20 years.

WARNING: The surveillance video below shows the attack, and is graphic.
