David Letterman plucked his first guest straight from Broadway on Thursday, as Neil Patrick Harris visited the Late Show before heading to perform in Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
“I am in heels, makeup and a giant wig. It takes 90 minutes [to get ready],” said the How I Met Your Mother star, who plays a transgender East Berlin rocker in the cult musical.

“I get to interact with the audience because she [Hedwig] is not a nice person,” he confessed, revealing he recently “motorboated a heavy set dude” who shouted out during his performance. “That’s the fun of the show!”

Harris went on to talk about the controversial finale of How I Met Your Mother, telling Letterman: “It wasn’t necessarily the happy ending that people were expecting,” he explained.
“I was a big proponent and a big fan [of the finale]. Sometimes people’s growth doesn’t mean they grow up … Barney is the kind of guy who wants to bang your mom!”
On The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon had a special guest sit in with The Roots — Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler. One lucky audience member won the prize of Tyler recording her voicemail for her, which he did singing a custom song to the tune of “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing.”
Jimmy Kimmel‘s new game, Tweeter Totter caused a stir on social media. The host sat Julie Bowen on the other end of a seesaw and they both tried to avoid having to post strange messages on Twitter, such as the one below:

On Seth Meyer‘s Late Night, Leslie Mann revealed that she enjoyed kissing her The Other Woman co-star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, but that she was literally allergic to him: “We kissed and I broke out in hives,” she revealed.
On CBS, Craig Ferguson got called out for not watching Bones when he had star Emily Deschanel on the Late Late Show. “Are you and David [Boreanaz] going to get married now?” he asked. “We got married … ” was the confused reply from his guest.
