With gun violence surging at college campuses in the last decade, some people are pushing for guns to be allowed on campuses for students' protection. In response, researchers at Ball State University polled university presidents around the country to see what they thought of allowing guns on campus (via Huffington Post).

The result: An overwhelming 95 percent of college presidents oppose firearms on campus regardless of the kind of license. Ninety-eight percent of them believe students feel safe on campus without guns, and 92 percent think students and faculty would feel unsafe if guns were brought on campus. Keep in mind that only the presidents were polled, not entire student bodies.

The study also revealed that presidents felt methods such as reporting violent students, text alerts, security equipment, campus police, and a shooter plan were effective means of dealing with a campus shooting.
