The first trailer for the second season of Orange Is the New Black has hit the web — and it’s “like, next-level crazy.”
The two-minute clip from the hit Jenji Kohan series opens with a confident Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling), resting all too comfortably in a solitary-type cell. “I am prepared to behave like a model inmate, and I feel that I no longer pose a threat,” she says via voiceover. (Seeing as this is the first sound byte since her character’s violent attack that closed season one, it’s offered with a very visible smirk.) And when officers come to visit her cell, she admits, “Sadly, it’s starting to feel like home in here.”
The trailer introduces a new nemesis for head honcho Red (Kate Mulgrew), who says, “A woman I knew a long time ago came back in yesterday.” The orange-clad inmate is Vee, who is shown bunking with Crazy Eyes (Uzo Aduba) — and on the right foot as well. (The show’s PaleyFest panel introduced Vee as a “street-wise drug maven who runs children” and is played by Lorraine Toussaint.)
But of course, it’s not happy as dandelions for everyone in the female prison, as the expecting inmate Dayanara (Dascha Polanco) is shown making out, arguing with and pleading with the fired-up officer, John Bennett (Matt McGorry). And it looks like the interracial friction is still alive and well, as Gloria (Selenis Leyva) scolds, “I don’t trust any of you crazy bitches.”

Jason Biggs, Laura Prepon, Natasha Lyonne, Laverne Cox and Lea Delaria are also shown, among others, but before Taystee (Danielle Brooks) closes the trailer on an upbeat note, Piper returns to the screen with a warning: “I am a lone wolf, and a vicious one. Don’t make me rip your throat out.”
The second season of Orange Is the New Black hits Netflix on June 6. Watch the trailer below.
