SACRAMENTO-

Sacramento Police Chief Sam Somers revealed on Twitter that officers have arrested suspects from the deadly May 10 shooting at Peregrine Park in Natomas.

A 29-year-old man was killed in the shooting. Six others, including a 7-year-old girl, were hurt. The gathering was a birthday party for a baby..

Kelly Thomas, 22, and 28-year-old Orlando Rhinehart were arrested for the shooting, Somers said in a Tuesday media conference. Thomas was found in New York City, and Rhinehart was arrested in the Natomas area.

Somers told reporters Tuesday afternoon that the shooting was both gang and drug-related.

Investigators say surveillance images of the car Thomas and Rhinehart allegedly used during the shooting was a key piece of evidence. The gold Ford Taurus was found in Manteca, and officers from Nevada and Arizona aided Sacramento Police in the investigation.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Sacramento Police at (916) 264-5471.
