STOCKTON-

The man suspected of assaulting an elderly City of Stockton parking attendant was arrested late Thursday morning.

Elias Carranco, 76, was attacked from behind on June 25. Two weeks later, his family told FOX40 that he is still in intensive care.

Thursday, 40-year-old Jack Perry was arrested for the assault.

Perry was booked into jail for assault, elder abuse and parole violation.

Stockton Police believe some sort of disturbance took place the day before between Perry and Carranco.  Their investigation is still on-going.

Carranco’s sister, Mary Helen telling FOX40 the family has forgiven Perry for the alleged attack, but that only  God and the law can punish him now.

“I want justice done to him,” she said.  “I don’t want him to be out there hurting another innocent person.  People who do these kinds of things, I don’t think they have a heart.”
