SACRAMENTO-

A fatal accident in the Land Park neighborhood Sunday morning left investigators with questions.

Sacramento Police spent hours combing through the evidence, looking at each car involved in the accident, which happened just before 7 a.m.

Police say a 25-year-old man, behind the wheel of a silver Mazda, ran a red light at 16th Street and Broadway.Investigators believe the man was driving under the influence.

After running that red light, the Mazda collided with a silver Dodge Ram. And, seconds after the two cars collided, police say the driver of the Mazda got out, and tried to make a run for it.

The driver caught the eye of an on-duty officer, who arrested him. He was booked on two charges: felony dui with injury and felony hit and run.

Police say the passenger in the Mazda did not survive.
