Romantic Fiction Author Rusty Blackwood’s June Newsletter 2014!

What a hectic month this has been! Hail, to the Niagara Literary Arts Festival 2014! I don’t remember having a month so filled with exciting venues, great readings, and the opportunity to meet some extremely gifted writers, authors, poets, and musicians. There has been a colourful array, each and every one as impressive as the prior. What a stellar reminder of the talent that lies within the area stretching from Queenston Heights and Fort Erie, clear through the Niagara Peninsula, around beautiful Lake Ontario, to the multi-cultured city of Toronto. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Jordan Fry and Priscilla Brett of Grey Borders for their hard work and tireless effort to bring all these events to a successful completion. Each and every event is appreciated by those of us who work at our craft, and hope to bring it to the publics’ eyes and ears. The support of these two, gifted people — authors and poets in their own right — is not taken lightly by those of us who are fortunate enough to be included on the creative, literary stage they provide. Thank you again, now on with the June 2014 news of this writer.

>> I did not do any book-signings this month for, as I’ve stated before, as well as above, that June is literary month through the Niagara area, so my calendar was kept clear for the events that I took part in. I was pleased to have been asked to read poetry, as well as a selected excerpt from my latest romance/drama, ‘Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary’ at three events, and was asked to fill in at two more which I was more than happy to do.

>> Wednesday evening, June 11th/14, I was pleased to read three selections of poetry: ‘A Rainy Day in Paris’, ‘Will You?’, and ‘I Warned You!’ at Café on Main in downtown Fonthill, On. http://www.cafeonmain.ca/ You may read these selected pieces, as well as others at my official poetry site: Inspiration in Thought, http://poetrypoem.com/cgi-bin/index.pl?sitename=rusty5&item=home&poetry=true and in my second printed collection ‘Impressions’ available at http://www.amazon.com/Impressions-Emotion-Ms-Rusty-Blackwood/dp/1466296348/ref=la_B0092XLBRM_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1403811590&sr=1-2, as well as all Amazons worldwide. On the roaster with me were: Chuck Crabbe, and Bryan Minnes.

>> Saturday afternoon, June 21st./14, I took part in the annual Pelham Festival Book Fair at the Pelham Library in Fonthill, On, along with some amazing writers, authors, poets, and publishers, Pelham Festival Book Fair Final Poster where I was pleased to read from Passions/Revelations. Unfortunately a pic of the happening is not available at this writing, but will be coming. This was a great afternoon, and I’m very glad to have been a part of it.

>> Saturday evening, June 21st./14, I was pleased to again fill in with the fantastic lineup of talent at Sheenhan’s Irish Pub in downtown St. Catharines, On. Again, I regret there is no picture to display – something I hope will be remedied for future events as it’s always nice for interested parties to see. The wonderful lineup of talent included, Elizabeth Chapman, Jael Richardson, Bryan Minnes, and Toronto’s superbly gifted Roberto Angelis. Be sure to Google the names to find their websites, and their incredible work.

>> I recently threw Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary’s title into the competition ring once again, this time being Readers’ Favorite International Awards 2014. This and other news is discussed in this month’s official Press Release by taking this link: http://www.freepublicitygroup.com/release_rusty_blackwood_romance_novel_jun114.html

>> Indie Author News, http://www.indieauthornews.com/, a well known site with regard to the promotion and support of Independent authors, recently did an interview with me that is slated to air on July 23rd, so be sure to book-mark the site as well as your calendars, and catch this insightful piece.

>> Work continues on ‘Willow’s Walk’, my upcoming romance/drama which I hope to publish by year’s end. Watch my official website, https://rusty-blackwood.com/ and Facebook https://www.facebook.com/writerrusty?ref=ts for excerpts of this emotional roller-coaster, sure to touch your heart, and make you think twice about the choices in your life.

This has been both an exhilarating month, and an exhausting one, but I have enjoyed every second. I am blessed to be able to execute my pleasures and my passions through my writing, and I thank each and every one of you who follow it, take the time to check it out, speak about it, recommend it, and purchase it.

And, as always, support your local authors, as well as all your local talents in the Arts. Remember, the household names that you know so well were once unknown, that is until someone took the time and chance to read, listen, and look.
Cheers!
Rusty.
