With Captain America: The Winter Soldier released on Digital HD on Tuesday and Blu-ray next month, it’s time to revisit the question of which side you’re on: HYDRA or SHIELD? And to make it more fun, choosing sides might end up with you winning a trip to the premiere of Avengers: Age of Ultron next year.
New viral site SHIELD vs HYDRA went live Monday, inviting fans to sign up and answer a series of multiple-choice questions — amongst them, what you value most in a colleague and what area of intelligence you’re most interested in — before assigning you to one of the two secret organizations in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe.
From that point on, agents for both groups will be assigned a series of weekly missions to complete over the next four weeks, with each mission acting as prelude to a weekly sweepstakes draw for prizes that include autographed posters, a subscription to a Marvel comic book and flash drives (One SHIELD and one HYDRA agent will be chosen as winners each week).
After the fourth mission, the winner of the grand prize — a trip for two to the premiere of Joss Whedon’s second Avengers movie in Los Angeles next year — will be announced (That announcement should be “on or about” Sept. 22, according to Disney).
Of course, hobnobbing with Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr. and the other Avengers is, at best, a side benefit. Let’s be honest: The real draw here is the chance to be chosen to join a terrorist organization headed up by Robert Redford and a talking computer. I mean, when it comes down to it, Hail Hydra.
