Ahead of this week’s Arrow, The CW has released a dramatic movie-quality trailer.
[Warning: Some spoilers ahead.]
The three-minute trailer, posted by star Stephen Amell on Facebook on Tuesday, touts the impending showdown between Oliver Queen (Amell) and his former mentor Slade Wilson (Manu Bennett), who reappeared in Starling City at the end of last week’s episode — much to Oliver’s chagrin.

Slade promises to wreak havoc on Oliver and the people whom he holds most dear (“Death would be a release from this life and his sentence has yet to be carried out”), and from the looks of it, he’s already beginning to seep into the Queen family. Meanwhile, Oliver is ready to make sure Slade stays six feet below ground (“This time I will make damn sure that he stays dead”).
There are so many nuggets within the trailer, including the first look at the newly assembled Suicide Squad and the upcoming “Birds of Prey” installment. This is how dire things are getting: “If they wear a mask, they get a bullet!”
“Once you let the darkness inside, it never comes out.”
Watch the trailer below.
Arrow airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on The CW.
