STOCKTON-

The Honor Farm in Stockton is getting a major fence upgrade.

A new contract with Stockton Fence was approved by the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors to make a significant upgrade.

The improvements will cost $360,000.

“The mesh on the new fence will be close together,” Amanda Beghtel, of Stockton Fence, said Wednesday. “The fence will be 12 feet high with four-point barbed wire attached to the top.”

The fence upgrade comes after 12 recent escapes. Three inmates are still at large.
