A five-alarm grass fire started Wednesday afternoon near Highway 37 and Highway 29 in Vallejo.
Flames spread in a field behind homes on Sonora Pass Drive.
According to the CHP, a witness reported seeing a man, possibly a transient, walking away from the fire. It’s unknown if he started the fire.
