STOCKTON-
A gun belonging to an off-duty San Joaquin Sheriff’s deputy was stolen from his unlocked car Wednesday morning, the Stockton Police Department said.
Investigators say the car was parked in front of a business on West Hammer Lane, near Interstate 5.
The deputy’s service weapon was inside a backpack in the car. He told police that he saw a man and woman take the backpack out of the car and tried to grab the bag back, but stopped when he saw the suspect reaching inside, possibly for the gun.
The man drove off in a car described to be a dark blue or black 2013 Dodge, with California plate number 6YMV693.
One suspect was described as a white or Hispanic man in his late 20’s, with a goatee, a red Chicago Bulls hat, white t-shirt, grey shorts and black and white shoes.
The second suspect was described as white woman in her mid-20’s with blonde hair, a black hoodie, dark blue shorts and red shoes.
