A young bear was spotted along the road as a FOX40 photojournalist was en route to a small wildfire in the Foresthill area of Placer County.
The bear appeared to be around three years old, and was without its mother.
Wildlife experts believe California’s drought is pushing animals further toward urban areas.
A mountain lion was recently captured in Sacramento’s midtown neighborhood.
A black bear was also seen wandering the streets of Colusa.
Cal Fire says the wildfire burned an acre and a half near Shirttail Canyon Drive. The fire was believed to have been started by lightning early Wednesday morning.
