Jeremy Sumpter, Phoebe Tonkin and Sebastian Koch are in talks to star in director Jim Gillespie’s YA thriller Take Down. Gillespie will begin shooting in April from a script by Alexander Ignon (Ransom).
Take Down follows the spoiled offspring of international billionaires who are sent to a tough-love school in the remote wilderness by their frustrated parents. When they are taken hostage and held for ransom by a group of clever and well-armed kidnappers, the kids are forced to try to save themselves.

The film is being packaged and produced by Pinewood Pictures, the off-shoot of U.K. studio group Pinewood Shepperton Plc., whose Steve Christian will executive produce. Mimi Steinbauer’s Radiant Films International is handling foreign sales on the project, and is shopping it at Berlin’s European Film Market.
Producers are Ed Elbert, Sarah Ryan Black and Stefan Brunner are producers.
Sumpter’s credits include Peter Pan, Soul Surfer and the upcoming Into the Storm. Tonkin’s credits include the CW’s The Vampire Diaries and upcoming The Ever After. Koch was in A Good Day to Die Hard and The Lives of Others.
Gillespie added: “The qualities every director searches for in their actors are talent, charisma and commitment. I’ve been lucky enough to find all three in Jeremy and Phoebe. Mark my words, these are the stars of tomorrow,” Gillespie said.
Sumpter is represented by Innovative Artists, while Tonkin is repped by ICM Partners and Management 360. Koch is repped by by Travistock Wood Management and Die Agenten.
