SACRAMENTO-

Every king needs a castle, and according to Sacramento Kings’ President Chris Granger, this team’s castle is going to be spectacular.

And with a price tag of $477 million, the design for the arena leaves nothing to the imagination.

“The commitment to technology we have will be second to none,” Granger told FOX40.

The team has already embraced new technology, they are the first, and only professional sport team to accept bitcoin. And on game day, a smartphone is all fans will need to get in the front door and order food. Granger said it will be a cashless experience.

And the outside doors greeting fans, there are rumors the organization is looking to SpaceX to design them. SpaceX manufactures and sends rockets into space. Granger’s reaction when asked about a SpaceX deal?

“I would say our doors are going to be pretty special. They are about 150-feet long, 50-feet tall. They are literally airplane hangar, or rocket ship style doors. So we’re working with multiple potential vendors on this right now,” Granger told FOX40.

As for satisfying fans inside the arena, the Kings organization is looking to partner with multiple Sacramento restaurants for unique offerings and opportunities.

“We want this to be very Sacramentan in our approach … to food and beverage in the arena,” Granger said.

For those lucky enough to enjoy the luxury boxes, they will be treated to a new “loft” experience like sitting in a living room that Granger compared to a theater box.
