Hackybox, which is shopping the picture in Berlin, is financing and producing the feature, which is based on a script by Ungar and Rob Robol.
Gridlocked is set to shoot this spring in Toronto and London, Ontario.
Bruno Marino, Geoff Hart and Hackman are producing.
Hackybox Pictures recently completed the mixed martial arts thriller Tapped, which stars Michael Biehn and Anderson Silva.
The film will be released by Lionsgate and VVS Films in May.
