Sarah Jones, ‘Midnight Rider’
27-year-old camera assistant Sarah Jones was struck and killed by a train during production on the Georgia set of the Gregg Allman biopic Midnight Rider. The production was filming a dream sequence on a live train track along a bridge trestle over the Altamaha River in Wayne County, Ga. After the crew had placed a twin-size metal-framed bed and mattress in the middle of the tracks, a train began bearing down on them, THR reported. Jones and the other crew members scrambled to get out of the way, but somehow Jones ended up in the train's path. Roughly two weeks after Jones' death, it was still unclear whether the production had permission to access the train tracks and the incident was being investigated.
