Showtime is ramping up its comedy development.
The premium cable network is developing Control Alt Delete, a legal comedy from Spy creator Simeon Goulden, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The comedy centers on four smart-ass workaholic associates in a “white shoe” law firm who are feverishly trying to move up the corporate ladder while avoiding becoming the next victim of the office serial killer.

Goulden created and will write the script and exec produce the Fox 21 entry alongside Chernin Entertainment’s Peter Chernin and Katherine Pope as well as Small Dog Picture Co.’s Renate Radford. Small Dog’s Jason Winer (New Girl, Modern Family, The Crazy Ones) will direct and exec produce.
Goulden created the U.K. comedy series Spy and penned two episodes of Showtime’s Secret Diary of a Call Girl. He also adapted Spy as a comedy pilot for ABC last year. He’s repped by UTA and Curtis Brown Group. Winer is with ICM Partners and Mosaic.
For Showtime, Control Alt Delete comes as the cable network has not bowed a new comedy since House of Lies in 2012. The cabler’s original comedy slate includes Nurse Jackie, Episodes — both of which are already renewed for 2015 — as well as Web Therapy and dramedy Shameless. Showtime has series Happyish on hold following the death of Philip Seymour Hoffman.
Control Alt Delete also expands Showtime’s relationship with Fox 21, the producers behind its Emmy-winning drama Homeland.
