STOCKTON-

Officers responded to an alarm that went off at a Stockton business, and a police dog named AJ was nearly harmed by the suspect, according to Stockton Police.

The alarm went off on Navy Drive, near the Charter Way intersection. When officers arrived, they found a broken window, and sent in AJ to search the building. When AJ found the suspect, the person tried to choke AJ, and then picked up a tool to try and stab the dog, but failed to do either.

The suspect, Jesus Sanchez, 56, was taken into custody by police, and taken to San Joaquin General Hospital for treatment of dog bite wounds. AJ, however, is going to be fine.
