SACRAMENTO-

Sacramento faces a “just below 100 percent” chance of getting a Major League Soccer expansion, Sac Republic FC Owner Warren Smith said Friday.

Smith spoke at a Sacramento Press Club luncheon about the city’s soccer team and its high chance of landing another major league sports franchise.

“It’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when,” Smith told FOX40.

Smith, along with Mayor Kevin Johnson and Sacramento Kings President Chris Granger, met with MLS officials at the leagues recent All-Star Weekend in Portland, Oregon.
