A CBS Television Distribution executive has been tapped for a new role as an executive producer of Hot Bench, the syndicated court show created by Judge Judy Sheindlin that launches in September.
Maureen FitzPatrick, who has been executive vp programing and development at CTD since 2012, will now join the previously announced Randy Douthit as an executive producer.
“We’ve worked with Maureen on this exciting new show since the beginning, and we could not be happier to have her join the Hot Bench team,” Douthit said.
This is the latest personnel change at CTD since Hilary Estey McLoughlin joined as president, creative affairs, last October.
FitzPatrick has been an executive producer before, including on the daytime talk shows Living It Up With Ali & Jack and Donny and Marie. She also was a consulting producer on Ellen.
Her experience includes producing credits on several conflict talks shows such as Jenny Jones, Danny Bonaduce and Jerry Springer. She also has worked on games shows including The Newlywed Game, The Dating Game and Pyramid (on GSN).
Before that FitzPatrick spent six years at FremantleMedia North America in development, sales and production of scripted live action shows and animated adult comedies.
Hot Bench was created by Sheindlin. Her show is top-rated in TV syndication. However, she will not appear on the show, which features a panel of three judges who hear cases, argue them among themselves and then render a verdict.
Sheindlin said of FitzPatrick: “One only needs to read her résumé and meet her for an hour to know that she is the real deal.”
