As befits the understated, mysterious marketing of the movie so far, the newly-launched website for Christopher Nolan’s new movie Interstellar is both cryptic and, just maybe, filled with hidden meaning.
At first glance, the site—which offers the user the chance to explore what appears to be a farmland environment via a navigable 360 degree image, akin to a particularly limited Google Street View—seems to offer very little aside from the chance to appreciate some pleasant landscape and enjoy the vague aphorisms that fade in and out on-screen, inviting you to “Look Around You,” because “The Answer Lies Above Us.”

However, various users have already worked out that the landscape on the site changes depending on the user’s location and local time, and that there may be hidden messages in what can be seen, including a starscape intended to suggest the original Apollo 11 moon landing of July 21, 1969. Quite what else is hidden in plain view—or how else the landscape will change as time goes on—remains unknown at this time, fittingly.
With a cast including Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain, Interstellar will be released November 7.
