AMADOR COUNTY—

The Sand Fire in Amador County is now at 50% containment and is holding in size at 3,800 acres.

According to CAL FIRE, the wildland fire in Plymouth has threatened 515 structures, and destroyed another 51. Containment lines have increased significantly on Sunday because of the increased fire personnel and equipment. The terrain is steep and dry and firefighters are using 196 engines, 6 air tankers, 30 dozers, and 8 helicopters to combat the flames.

Evacuations are in order for Sand Ridge Road to Morning Canyon Road, from Vintage Trail to Sand Ridge Road, Bell Road, D Agostini Road, Pertioni Road, all of Buzzards Gulch Road, all roads off of Buzzard Gulch Road. Fairplay Road, Dorado Canyon Road and all connecting roads, and River Pines Estates.

There is an evacuation warning for the Outingdale Community, and the evacuation shelter is at Ponderosa High School at 3661 Ponderosa Road (map).
